THE FIRST PART OF TODAYS LITURGY:
THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS

The Stations of the Cross is a devotional practice rooted in Catholic tradition. It meditates on Jesus’ journey to the Cross across 14 (or 15) stations/moments, from condemnation to burial and culmunating in His resurrection.

It invites Christians to walk with Christ, reflect on His sacrifice, and unite personal sufferings with His redemptive work. Emerging from early Christian pilgrimage and formalized in the Middle Ages,

The Stations foster repentance, compassion, and hope, especially during Lent, while pointing to the eschatological promise of new life.
